Does anyone have experience in cutting Sweet Sorghum with a silage cutter?

Lots of people are using silage cutters to harvest sweet sorghum. My quetion to you is for what purpose? If the sweet sorghum is to be used for the production of ethanol then special precautions must be taken to protect the juice so it does not sour. To do this some people spray a 10% solution of sulfuric acid on the biomass. The juice in SS is full of bacteria which go to work as soon as they are exposed to air. So if you can squeeze out the juice very quickly after cutting then you should be OK. There are many pictures floating around the internet where silage cutters are used to harvest SS, particularly in China.

The SS growers in the USA who grow it for syrup also use this equipment.
